module 2:
harassment and violence policy
DESCRIPTION AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

At the end of this workshop, participants will have a clear understanding of the importance of harassment and violence policy in the workplace. The course will review the necessity of such policies, their component elements, and will also review the necessity of having a mechanism in place to operationalize the policy and bring it to the attention of management and workers.

This workshop will also review the implementation of workplace violence policy, and the concomitant need to have a safe and effective disclosure mechanism and an open communication policy and procedure in place in order to give expression to the policy. Making a workplace violence policy work for the organization is treated as a separate subject in Module 3.
